About Me

Donna Mug

I first entered the graphic design field in the early 80's at the Las Vegas Sun, where I learned to hand cut color overlays using Rubylith and Amberlith to create four-color display ads. I also learned how to create mechanical ad layouts using hand coded tissue overlays to be sent to typesetting for galley type that were returned to me for layout.

In the early 90's I converted the Henderson Home News and Boulder City News to computer assisted display ad layout using Adobe PageMaker on Macintosh computers and large format photo typesetters, then converting to large format laser printers. I taught myself to use PageMaker and Quark Express and finally Adobe InDesign.

Also, in the early 90's my husband, his sister and I opened O'Callaghan Print & Copy Shoppe in Henderson as support operation to the Henderson Home News, providing color flyers and insert for display advertising client. The operation quickly grew into a full-blown printing operation that provide every imaginable print products including booklets, programs, business cards, magazines, letterheads, envelopes, and anything else you could put ink on.

In 2005 we merged our companies into the Greenspun Media Group, the print operations were sold off and Greenspun Media Group then managed newspaper operations. In 2009, I left the Greenspun Media Group after accepting a buyout.

In 2010, I began servicing small clients and churches with Print graphic design and web design needs. To improve my skills and expand my skill set. I enrolled in continuing education classes at UNLV to achieve a InternetDesign and Technology Certificate.
